• Post-op Course: Oral antibiotics and pain reliever are taken for a week.  Expect swelling for 1-2 weeks over the nipples.  Frequent ice compress is advised to help with the swelling.  

• Suture Removal: sutures are removed after 7-10 days
   
• Downtime: 7-14 days for swelling; most can return to work after procedure

• Scarring:  scars are usually visible for 1-3 months and will gradually fade over 6-12 months
   
• Results: you will see immediate results in terms of reduction in the size of the nipples

Q: Will I lose nipple sensation?
A: The remaining nipple will still have a sensation.

Q: Can I still breastfeed later?
A: Depends on how much nipple is preserved which will depend on the desired nipple size.  The smaller the nipple, the less chance of breastfeeding.

Q: Will there be visible scars?
A: Incisions are discreetly placed around the nipple edge or in folds; they fade significantly over time.

Q: Is the procedure painful?
A: No—local anesthesia ensures comfort during surgery; post-operative soreness is mild and treated easily with medication.
